When you drag and drop a photo or video into SmallFast, it is processed entirely inside your web browser’s volatile memory (RAM). Your files are never uploaded to any remote server or cloud bucket.
SmallFast operates using modern, client-side web technologies: WebAssembly (WASM), WebCodecs, HTML5 Canvas, and dedicated Web Workers. These browser APIs execute the encoding algorithms directly on your local CPU and GPU.
Because file data never traverses the internet, SmallFast and its operators (Tensix Technologies) have zero physical or technical capability to view, inspect, intercept, or retain your raw or compressed media.

You can use SmallFast anonymously up to the free tier limit without creating an account. When you choose to create an account or upgrade to Lifetime Pro:
We integrate Clerk to provide secure passwordless email sign-in and OAuth (Google/GitHub). SmallFast never stores your credentials on private database servers. Clerk complies with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards.
Lifetime Pro ($10 USD one-time) is processed directly by Ziina, a licensed payment gateway. SmallFast never receives, processes, or logs your credit card number, CVV, or billing address.
4. Cookies & Local Storage Disclosures
SmallFast does not use tracking cookies, advertising beacons, or third-party behavioral profiling trackers. We utilize HTML5 localStorage strictly for necessary functional operations:
- Theme Preference: Remembers whether you prefer Dark Mode or Light Mode across visits.
- Free Quota Counter: Tracks processed byte totals locally so users can utilize their complimentary 50 MB allowance without an account.
- Session Token: Temporary Clerk session cookies to maintain your authenticated state if you log in.
5. On-Device Safety & User Responsibility
Because SmallFast executes 100% locally with zero server custody, you retain sole and exclusive legal liability for all media selected and processed on your device.
You are strictly prohibited from using SmallFast utilities to process Child Sexual Exploitation Material (CSAM), non-consensual sexual depictions, terrorist or violent extremist content, or copyright-infringing works.
Temporary canvas objects, video frame buffers, and Object URLs created in browser memory during compression are automatically garbage-collected and destroyed by the browser immediately upon task completion.
6. Regulatory Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global Protections)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and related privacy frameworks worldwide, you are entitled to key privacy rights:

SmallFast never sells, rents, monetizes, or shares user personal data with data brokers or ad networks.
Zero cloud upload is not a toggle or premium setting—it is the foundational architecture of the app.
We do not track user habits, analyze compressed photo metadata, or build advertising profiles.
